Once again, we managed to overspend!

However, all in the name of a valuable purpose to provide you with an in-depth review of the Skywatcher Evolux 82ED refractor. We opted to purchase this telescope following our recent evaluation of its smaller sibling, the Skywatcher Evolux 62ED.

During a recent sale in Australia, we were unable to resist the temptation of purchasing a product that had its price slashed from the recommended retail price of $1,599 AUD to $799 AUD. Checking on 11 Aug 24, we found that several Australian distributors were still offering this discounted price.

We were interested in assessing the utility of this scope in our astrophotography setup, testing its performance on our EQ3-2 mount. We pondered whether we should wait until upgrading to at least an EQ5 mount before using it for our astrophotography endeavors. I guess we will find out!

Keep an eye out for a detailed review, we are excited to provide more information on the performance of this scope. However, with its arrival, we expect the skies to darken and rain to begin once more!
